Blurg is the word of the day. I'm feeling full of words, which is a good feeling, but also way too lazy to write all the emails that I want to. So, I'll sum up here:

Christopher M.: I got your letter weeks ago. I'm working on a reply, really. I love listening to the cd''ve found some songs that I would never have even dreamed of looking for ("gin and juice" tops that list - who the hell is that? and is that Nick Cave singing "let it be"?)

Jen 0.: I thought of you a lot this weekend. Mom and Bob got married (finally!) in Saratoga. Chris and Nicole and I were talking about the Twin Lakes apartment nostalgically (is that a word?). We were talking about the little orange and white cat, Arnold, and his hunting prowess. We all recall that Thanksgiving break when you came to visit, and rang the doorbell, rather than coming right in, because there was a big dead rabbit on the doormat. Ah, the joys of outdoor cats...

So. Mom and Bob got married last weekend. It was great. You'd think after 11 1/2 years of anticipation, it might fall a little short of expectations, but no, the ceremony and reception were great. Got to see tons of family tht I love, and hang out with my siblings. For once, Matt and Nicole were not picking on each other to the point where I wanted to throttle them both, and Chris made an effort not to antogonize the living daylights out of me. There were the requisite "So when's your turn?" questions, but I had been expecting that. Bob's crazy grandchildren made only a minor fuss - though I was very upset that the fuss was during the (brief but heartwarming) ceremony.

I think I had some more thoughts on the wedding, but I can let them out later. The most amusing moment was when all my mother's woman relatives and friends danced to Shania Twain's (pretty lame) cover of "I feel like a woman." This is including my 70+ year old Nana. How very...estrogen laden. It sounds cheezy, but it was a lot of fun.

Mom's best friend Joyce was there. I had forgotten that her son, Justin, was getting married this year. He's getting married the day after my birthday, as a matter of fact, to a girl he's been with since high school. I'm thinking its been, oh, 7 or 8 years. And they stayed together through college. The weirdest thing is that he's really the first of my childhood friends to get married, and I still think of him as that 12 year old kid I used to hang out with and flirt with.

Makes me feel old.
